Watson held a single red rose delicately between his fore and middle fingers. He had never really been a large fan of St. Valentine's day, but this year someone had taken upon his fancy. The rose was only a small gesture, one that he planned to be anonymous; partly because he knew that his Valentine was not so big on romance themselves, and partly because his feelings for this brilliant person were kept a strict secret. That was exactly the way he wanted to keep things. Perhaps the doctor should have realised a long time ago that where Sherlock Holmes is involved, things rarely go the way one first intended. No sooner had Watson placed the flower on Holmes' desk, then did a very familiar voice sound from directly behind him.
"Happy Valentine's day, Watson."

It was happening. His beloved Boswell was leaving him for good. Every day, Holmes heard the sounds of luggage shifting, the echo of little thumps and clinks of precious items being carefully packed and stowed away. Damnable feelings! He should not feel anything at this, he was an analytical mastermind, made by his own hand to only observe and deduce not to have his head swim with sudden confounding emotions. If anything, the great mind should be proud at Watson's move for freedom, yet the dull ache of possessiveness over his John only grew as the days of doctor's departure diminished.

Upon reading this story, i blushed and said something along the lines of, "Neee..."
And then i got a pomegranate seed stuck in my teeth and needed the assistance of a friend of mine to remove it. He read this story as well and i will tell you his face turned as red as a cherry. He also giggled like a schoolgirl.
