"Forget it, Wilson."

"What is up with you, House? I know it's just not in your nature to be happy – but you could at least pretend. It's your birthday."

"So?" House popped the red lollipop he had just stolen from the clinic into his mouth.

"So, you should celebrate."

"No, I shouldn't. We've been over this, there is absolutely nothing worth celebrating about me becoming one year older."

Wilson sighed heavily, the way he often did around House. "Fine. At least let me come round to yours, we'll have a few drinks or something."

The diagnostician was silent for a few moments, twirling the lollipop stick between his fingers absentmindedly. Wilson knew that House was only pretending to think about it, trying to mess with him.

"Chinese sounds good." House eventually decided, flashing a wicked grin at Wilson. The oncologist sighed again, but could not help his answering smile. He knew he would have to pay for tonight, but it would be worth it.

Wilson didn't really know why he'd agreed to play truth or dare with House. It had seemed like a good idea at the time, but now he was starting to regret it. Two people wasn't really enough for a traditional game of truth and dare, the one where you had to spin the bottle, so –House being House - the diagnostician had made up his own version.

The rules were pretty simple. The two men took it in turns to roll a dice: even got you a truth, odd was a dare. House watched the dice lazily as it spun in the air, tumbling down to the table, eventually coming to a stop among a mess of takeaway boxes and beer cans.

"Four." House grinned widely. "Come on then, Wilson. Ask me a question."

The oncologist pondered for a moment, searching for a question that would pass as suitable for the game, yet still get him the answer he wanted.

"Ok. Got one. Even you, Greg House, must have your eye on someone. Spill."

He tried to make it sound as carefree as possible, but Wilson could not stop the sudden burst of hurt he felt when House shrugged and muttered something that sounded a lot like Cuddy. The oncologist hoped House hadn't seen his reaction before he'd had a chance to pull a smile back to his face. The diagnostician's expression hadn't changed at all, so Wilson really couldn't tell. He didn't know why he was quite so disappointed. Cuddy had an excellent figure, there was no denying that. She was beautiful, he supposed, and she was a nice woman – not that that would count for anything in House's books. Wilson really didn't know why he'd hoped for a different answer.

"Hey, Jimmy. Hellooooo?" House waved a hand up and down in front of Wilson's face. The oncologist blinked, being snapped back from his thoughts. "There you are." The diagnostician smiled slightly, throwing Wilson the dice. "Your turn."

Jimmy snatched up the dice and rolled it across the desk, groaning when it landed on the number one.

"Dare. Brilliant." Wilson had no idea what House was going to ask him, but he was positive he wouldn't like it – if the wicked smirk on the older doctor's face was anything to go by. "I dare you to kiss me."

"What?" Wilson blinked.

House shrugged. "Kiss me."

Jimmy took a deep breath and leaned forward across the coffee table, pausing for a moment before pressing his lips to House's. He was quite sure that by kiss, the diagnostician had meant a peck, but Wilson had dreamt of doing this for longer than he would care to admit. Perhaps it was the beer, but he would be damned if he let this opportunity pass.

The oncologist flicked his tongue out, gently licking along the line of House's lower lip. He felt rather than saw the diagnostician freeze and began to pull away with a sigh, he should have known that was going too far.

A hand, rough from gripping a cane and playing guitar, slid to the back of Jimmy's neck - effectively stopping his escape before pulling back him. For all House was an unpredictable man, Wilson would never have expected for even a minute the way the diagnostician kissed him then. It was possibly the most un-Houselike thing that Greg had ever done: tender and sweet and full of unspoken emotion – yet filled with a desperate need that had surely been building for many years.

House pulled away with a small chuckle. "You got me, Jimmy."

"What?" Wilson was having trouble with coherent thought.

"I lied."

"You did?"

"Yeah." The way House's hot breath caressed Wilson's face when he spoke, God, it was just too hot. "It's you. It's always been you."
Spontaneous Hilson fanfics, yayy!
I randomly got this idea when I was watching season 1 eppisode 6 (I got the box sets for Christmas. xD) and House is getting all annoyed about people wishing him a happy birthday.
If anyone spots the line I stole from season 1 eppisode 4 then I'll give you a gummy bear. It made me laugh so hard I just had to put it in this fic.

Gregory House, James Wilson and all other characters copyright to David Shore. I'm not making any money through writing this.
